Cycle of Fire, 2025
Acrylic on hand cut up-cycled translucent Plexiglas,
23 x 96 x 2 inches
This shaped painting explores fire as a natural ecological process that removes dead biomass and promotes biodiversity while also addressing the practice of controlled burns to mitigate catastrophic wildfires occurring unnaturally from climate change. Although devastating, the forest and grassland ecologies over and over again display their amazing capacity for renewal.
